Rebirth of a Blog

Days in an independent bookstore are much like a three-ring circus – like juggling with one hand tied behind your back while talking on the phone and calming a crying child. This little blog has had its fits and starts in the past – always begun with the best of intentions, but dropped by the wayside when the bricks and mortar business, in its circus-y way, demanded our attention.
I am officially the “New Girl” here, the one most apt to raise her hand and volunteer for every interesting project suggested. I’m going to take the helm with the plan being frequent updates re: author events, new arrivals and special occasions.
I have been in and out of the bookstore business over the course of the last 12 years…most recently OUT but grateful to be back IN again, and to be IN in such a very special place. I am thrilled to be on the front lines; to advocate for my favorite authors and illustrators (childrens’ books and food writing are among my passions), to introduce readers to words and pictures that will excite and inspire them.
Today’s entry is just a brief “Hello,” but I’ll be back with frequent updates. Please feel free to ask for ANYTHING. If there are authors you’d like to meet, books you’d like us to know about…even improvements you think we can make, PLEASE feel free to comment here. OR…come in to the store so we can connect your face with your name and your words.
